Matte Must Haves

I was only introduced to Sleek makeup a year ago when my best friend gave me a Sleek eye shadow palette as a Christmas present and it was instantly love at first sight. I still use that same palette on the regular and it’s my go-to palette for an everyday look as it includes some pretty sparkly colours as well as plenty of neutral mattes.

So you can guess that I was absolutely thrilled when Boots reduced the Sleek gift sets in the Boxing day sales. I did go slightly crazy with my purchases… 👼

However, my favourite product has to be the matte lipsticks set! I only really bought it for the pretty red as shockingly up to now my makeup bag was missing the statement red lipstick, mainly because I was quite scared of wearing a bright lip in fear of looking like a clown.

Once I tried this red, I honestly fell in love! It is such a beautiful rich red and the product applies unbelievably smoothly meaning you don’t even need to apply a liner, which is fortunate as I do not have one (yet). An extra perk, that I noticed straight away, was how my lips felt like my lips! By that, I mean it didn’t leave them feeling super dry like so many matte lipsticks. To top things off, I wore it during a long day of shopping and it lasted until the evening, surviving a Frankie and Benny’s and countless fitting room adventures.

I am yet to wear the other colours myself but I used them when I made-up my boyfriend’s mum and her friends for a NYE Abba tribute concert and the ladies loved them. They are equally as pretty, wearable and feel lush on the lips as the red.

Honestly, for £3, one lipstick would have been more than a bargain. But for four?!  This set was a steal!
